Rambus
General Description
1. Rambus is a chip to chip interface design that is system wide, allowing
800 Mhz transfer rates. It allows data transfer through a simplified bus that operates in a high frequency range. Rambus uses a low voltage signal swings with data transfer on both edges of a synchronizing pulse.
2. RDRAM (Rambus DRAM)
IN 1998, Direct RDRAM boosted speed is up to 1.6GB/sec. Rambus Licenses its memory designs to semiconductor companies, which manufacture the chips. Intel has invested in and has been involved in the design of the Direct
Rambus.
